Click on the hamburger button on the right edge to open settings, where you can link Itsycal to OS X’s Calendar app. The data with dots means are appointments and you can choose to list up to one week days worth of appointments below the calendar.
Access your Mac Calendar app and then follow these steps. 1) Open or create the meeting event. 2) For an existing event, click the area of the event that displays the date and time. 
For a new event, you should see “Add Alert, Repeat, or Travel Time” in the box under the date and time.
